IN LOVING MEMORY OF Candy Johns
“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die” ~Thomas Campbell
On September 26th, 2020, heaven received another angel. Candy Johns, a resident of Lake Stevens, WA, passed away at the young age of 66. Candy was a beautiful and vibrant soul, mostly known for her small auto repair shop in Seattle. Candy spent the last 25 years building Suburb Service, Inc., into a thriving business that promotes women in the workplace and values equal and fair business for every customer.
Candy was an amazing wife to Howard, a wonderful mother to Michelle, and a one-of-a-kind mother-in -law to Mike. She was blessed to have two adoring grandkids, Madelyn and Max, which both loved and cherished her.
"GO HAWKS” ~Candy Johns
Candy was a season ticket holder and diehard fan of the Seattle Seahawks. For anyone who knew her, there was no doubt that ‘Seahawks blood’ flowed through her veins.
Candy proudly referred to herself as a 12th “WOMAN” and spent the remaining years of her life supporting both the Kirkland and Snohomish County Sea Hawkers Chapters. In that role, she worked with other like-minded fans to promote the Seahawks’ message of kindness and love towards everyone.
Candy was an inspirational woman.
She always had open arms of love and a smile on her face.
Candy’s volunteer work with the Sea Hawkers was a reflection of her desire to always help those in need; assisting as many charitable causes and less fortunate people as possible in the process.
At Candy's request, there will be no memorial service.
She had a big heart, so it was an easy decision to create the Candy Johns Memorial Fund in her name.
Our family has chosen to partner with InvestED, an education nonprofit that helps schools across Washington remove some of the financial barriers that impact low-income children. The Seahawks also support InvestED and its mission, so we believe this is a perfect way to honor Candy’s legacy.
We hope that everyone who is able to support this charitable cause will do so.
Together, we can help improve the lives of children in our community, including teenage athletes and others who are experiencing hardships or challenges that prevent them from achieving their dreams.
As I write these words with a broken heart, I want to remind everyone that we shall prevail. I know my mother would have been so proud of this charity and how her family and friends came together to help others during our tragedy and loss.
Candy will live on in the hearts and minds of every soul she touched, and in my mother’s own words, “Oh Shelly Lyn, don’t’ cry, everything will be ok”.
Thank you all for your generosity, support and love.
