From White River Middle School

This year, our school had a 6th grader from a financially-challenged family who was involved in choir for the first time at the middle school level. Our choir teacher keeps emergency clothing for students who cannot afford the required attire for choir and band concerts. However, this particular student had outgrown the emergency clothing available, and his family could not afford to purchase new clothing for him. As a result of financial assistance from G. InvestED Fund, the choir teacher was able to buy new clothes for him to wear at the final choir concert so that he could participate with the rest of the students. He performed well, and his confidence shone--he said that he felt 'really good? about himself and how he looked for the performance.
